Two keyboard instruments (accordion and piano) trace music from Greek tradition and the musical masterpieces of Manos Hadjidakis. The accordion acts as a paintbrush, spreading rich, passionate hues across the piano’s canvas and uniquely capturing Hadjidakis’ balanced sensitivity. It embraces the rebetiko of Tsitsanis and recalls the collective spirit of Greek folk singing.
I would describe the musical work ‘From the Keys to the Heart’ as a magical bridge linking the Greek folk song to the contemporary one of the 1950s and 1960s. […] …I believe that, quite apart from their aesthetic achievement, the efforts of these two performers allow us to revisit the roots of our national music and appreciate the “tree” of music which blossomed from the work of so many major Greek Artists and performers (Mikis Theodorakis, letter to M. Loyadis, May 15, 2012, from Equinox album).
